1、 Introduction to FCC

The full name of FCC is Federal Communications Commission, and the Chinese name is Federal Communications Commission. Founded in 1934 under the communications act, it is an independent agency of the U.S. government, directly responsible to Congress. The FCC coordinates domestic and international communications by controlling radio, television, telecommunications, satellites, and cables. The FCC's office of engineering and technology is responsible for the technical support of the Committee and the approval of equipment to ensure the safety of radio and wire communication products related to life and property. Many radio application products, communication products and digital products to enter the U.S. market, require FCC approval. The FCC Committee investigates and studies all stages of product safety to find out a good way to solve the problem. At the same time, the FCC also includes the detection of radio devices, aircraft and so on.

Scope of application: it covers more than 50 states, Colombia and regions of the United States.

3、 FCC Certification Type

There are two types in general:

Declaration of conformity SDoC: the equipment manufacturer or supplier shall test the products at the qualified testing agency approved by FCC to ensure that the equipment meets relevant technical standards and keep the test report. FCC has the right to ask the responsible party to submit the test data of the equipment samples or products. The equipment applicable to the declaration of conformity includes home computer and peripheral equipment, civil broadcasting receiver, super regeneration receiver, FCC rule Part 15 and other equipment.

ID certification: FCC reviews samples (or photos) and test data submitted by applicants. If they meet FCC rules, it authorizes equipment with an FCC ID number. The equipment suitable for certification includes low-power transmitter such as cordless telephone, remote controller of automatic door, radio remote control toy and safety alarm system, equipment of Part 15 that intentionally transmits radio frequency energy, Bluetooth WiFi and other LAN wireless devices. So it is usually necessary to do ID type for FCC certification of wireless products.
